Sex Offender Registry

  • Pursuant to 16-22-112(2)(b) Colorado Revised Statutes, A local law enforcement agency may post on its website sex offender registration information or a person from its registration list only if the person is:
    • An adult convicted of a felony requiring the adult to register pursuant to section 16-22-103; or
    •  An adult convicted of a second or subsequent offense of any of the following misdemeanors:
      • Sexual assault as described in section 18-3-402(1)(e), C.R.S.,
      • Unlawful sexual contact as described in section 18-3-404, C.R.S.,
      • Sexual assault on a client as described in section 18-3-405.5(2), C.R.S.;
      • Sexual exploitation of a child by possession of sexually exploitative material as described in section 18-6-403, C.R.S.;
      • Indecent exposure as described in section 18-7-302, C.R.S.;
      • Sexual conduct in a correctional institution as described in section 18-7-701, C.R.S. 
  • The information is provided only for persons who physically reside within the Town of Pagosa Springs limits.
  • Use of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass any person on this list, including vandalism of property, verbal or written threats of harm or physical assault against an individual on this list, their family, or employer, may result in your arrest and prosecution.

Facts About Sex Offenders

  • Most offenders sexually assault a person they already know, including family member, friends, and acquaintances.
  • Most convicted sex offenders are supervised and managed by community supervision of a criminal justice agency, either probation, parole, or community corrections.
  • Rape is the most under-reported crime, 63% of sexual assaults are not reported to police.

Registration Instructions

  • Sex Offenders residing as a permanent or temporary resident within the boundaries of the Town of Pagosa Springs must register at the Pagosa Springs Police Department within five days of arrival or as otherwise directed. Please report to Pagosa Springs Police Department with a photo ID during normal business hours.
  • A temporary resident is considered any person from another state who occupies a dwelling, including a hotel or motel, for more than 14 days in any 30-day period.  
  • A registration fee of $25.00 will be applied to new registrations and $20.00 for re-registration.
