Guide to Court Ordered Community Service

The Community Service Program oversees offenders who are ordered, by the court, to perform community service hours as a condition of probation or diversion.  Community Service is intended to provide a meaningful and positive volunteer experience with public service agencies as a form of reparative restitution to the community.  Compliance with community service hours may be verified by on-site monitoring, direct contact with the service agency, and/or documentation provided by the service agency.  

Questions and Answers

Where can I complete Community Service hours?  You may complete Community Service hours at any non-profit organization.  You will need to have your location approved by your Community Service Coordinator before proceeding.

How do I track my Community Service hours?  A time sheet will be provided to you to track your hours.  It is your responsibility to ensure your site supervisor/authorized agent, verifies and signs your log sheet.

Can I do Community Service at more than one location?  Yes.  Community Service hours may be completed at multiple locations.  Your Community Service Coordinator can provide you with additional log sheets.

The organizations listed below, for community service work, are merely just suggestions.  It is not mandatory to choose an organization from this list.  Contact your Community Service Coordinator for
additional volunteer locations.  Organizations reserve the right to refuse anyone applying for Community Service hours.
