Paper only, Please!

Did you know that anything added to the sewer system beyond human waste, water and toilet paper adds undue strain on our wastewater pipes? The Town and the Pagosa Springs Area Sanitation General Improvement District (PSSGID) have taken many steps, including preventive measures, to avoid issues at our pump stations that may result in pump failures or a sewage spill, but we need your help to keep our sewer system operational and free from unnecessary debris.

Toilets aren’t trashcans, so remember that even flushable baby wipes, feminine products, paper towels, medication, and FOGs (fats, oils and grease) should not be flushed down the toilet or put down the drain. Proper disposal of these items will help ease the strain on our sewer system – and keep things flowing more smoothly!
